MJO is performing for a great event saluting music educators, Philanthropist John Peterson and new UW-Madison Jazz Studies director Johannes Wallmann this Saturday, November 3 at Full Compass Systems, 9770 Silicon Prairie Parkway on the west side.

We’ll be performing two tunes (so will everyone else) – Count Bubba (Gordon Goodwin) and Love for Sale (Buddy Rich). The doors open at 2 pm for conversation and refreshments. We lead off the program at 2:30.

Some of the other performers include – Dave Stoler, Tony Castaneda’s Latin Jazz Sextet, Rick Flowers, Dave Cooper and more. There will be new and old, small group and large group jazz, vocalists, instrumentalists all celebrating the wonderful American music called jazz!
