We’ll be performing two tunes (so will everyone else) – Count Bubba (Gordon Goodwin) and Love for Sale (Buddy Rich). The doors open at 2 pm for conversation and refreshments. We lead off the program at 2:30.

Some of the other performers include – Dave Stoler, Tony Castaneda’s Latin Jazz Sextet, Rick Flowers, Dave Cooper and more. There will be new and old, small group and large group jazz, vocalists, instrumentalists all celebrating the wonderful American music called jazz!

We are at the Brink this Thursday

Yes it’s the 4th Thursday of the month again and the MJO rides into the Brink Lounge at 7:30 pm, October 25. We are in the lounge (big and comfy couches, lounge chairs) with two one hour sets at 7:30 and 9 pm.

This month we celebrate the Rhythm and Blues with tunes based on Gershwin’s ‘I Got Rhythm’ changes and tunes based on the Blues changes.

Keep an eye out for musicians sitting in with the band this week. It’s the WSMA convention weekend at the Monona Terrace bringing music educators together from around the state for concerts, seminars and lectures enhancing their teaching abilities.

As always there is no cover charge to get into the club. We appreciate your contributions to our ‘Alms for the Band’ fund. Primarily used to purchase new charts for the band, we have made the choice to use the ‘Alms for the Band’ format rather than a cover charge format in order for our fans to choose how much you would like to contribute to the band.

See you at the Brink on Thursday night!
